How comfortable can we make a lounge chair without using fabric and foam - while still achieving ultimate relaxation and comfort?
VENAIR is our bold answer to this challenge.
By pushing the traditional technique of molded veneer to its limit, we've crafted a soft seat using modules just 3 mm thin. No foam, no springs—only sleek wooden elements that adapt naturally to your body.
The modular lounge chair is designed for easy disassembly, making it simple to repair, reuse, or even expand.

“The challenge with this chair was to reduce its carbon footprint to the minimum.
Since fabric and foam are the components in furniture that over all have the highest CO2 footprint, we challenged our self to investigate if it could be possible to achieve comfort avoiding those crucial materials completely.

We made lots of experiments and tests in our prototype workshop exploring principles and dimensions before we found the right geometries for the modular and flexible veneer parts resulting in a surprisingly comfortable structure that - to our big delight ! - could support even heavy visitors when they tried it during the Danish Design MAKERS exhibition “BLIND DATE” without destroying it- what a delight!”
